Rolling Meadows, IL (April 17, 2014)– Panasonic Factory Solutions Company debuted its latest maintenance solution, PanaCIM Maintenance with Augmented Reality (AR) at the 2014 IPC APEX show.
Covering all equipment brands, Maintenance AR furnishes instant communication and information to factory technicians - when and where they need it - so they can respond to factory needs more effectively. With built-in features to curb human error, this software solution brings access to check lists, part lists, and repair history, among other documents, to assist in equipment breakdown or scheduled maintenance. Technicians can also easily enter data while still at the machine for future reference.
“What’s great is that in addition to providing this information, Maintenance AR helps prioritize tasks and can determine the technician in closest proximity to perform said tasks. Complexity for skill level and other characteristics can even be taken into account,” said Hiro Kurata, GM – Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America.
Machines are identified through the camera of a tablet or mobile device and important information is overlaid right on the image.
Maintenance with Augmented Reality runs on Windows, iOS, and Android and is part of the ever-widening array of solutions Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America offers to manufacturers of any mix and any volume production.
